Over the first five decades of Flames History, various alumni attempted to reach out to their former teammates in efforts of reconnecting, but they had little success. In 2012, under former football coach Morgan Hout, the Varsity Club was created to assist former NCAA and Club Sport athletes. Over time, it was evident that our NCAA athletes needed a well-defined program to support their specific engagement.
In 2019, the NCAA alumni program was re-branded to the Letterwinners Association, supporting all NCAA alumni, while Varsity Club would continue to support Club Sports alumni. Now, the Letterwinner’s Association continues to support Liberty Athletics through Flames Club. After events and outreach efforts were quickly shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Letterwinners Association is proud to have started back up in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Liberty University in Fall of 2021. There has never been a better time to bring us back together to support our current and former Flames.
